About Kerry

My name is Kerry Perkins, a Marine Corps veteran, and I am a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Starck Real Estate. I service the Chicagoland area, specializing in VA loans and hold the highest values of honor, courage, and commitment. I assist my clients in achieving their real estate goals by guiding them along the path, and I promise them my full dedication and tireless effort in assisting them with all their needs.

As a United States Marine Corps veteran who proudly served our country from 2002 – 2006, my schooling and occupation was in Communications as a Field Radio Operator. I was the Guide of my platoon (13 weeks) and graduated meritoriously as an E-3 (Lance Corporal). I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan at Camp Courtney for a little over a year and then came back state-side and was stationed in Havelock, North Carolina at Cherry Point Air Station. Those four years taught me more about life and myself than I could have ever imagined and has helped shape and mold the person I am today.

Following the service, I attended Northern Illinois University and graduated in December of 2011 with a Bachelors in Arts for Communications. After four years of working in media production, I decided to become a Realtor and received my license in October 2015. In order to serve my fellow veterans and the military community, I received my MRP Certification (Military Relocation Professional) in 2017. As a veteran, it is my mission to help veterans and active military utilize their VA Home Loan benefit to achieve their dreams of homeownership.

I am passionate about helping as many people as I can in different communities. I am grateful that I can do this through some amazing organizations:

I have been a part of Chicago Veterans, since 2019. In the last 7 years, I have led a team, "Ruckers For A REason", for the annual Ruck March and have helped raise almost $15,000. Participating and fundraising annually in the Ruck March allows me to be an activist in order to help my fellow veterans in their fight with PTSD and suicide prevention.

I have been a part of A Safe Haven, where I am a member of their Advisory Board. Their mission is to restore hope and opportunity to individuals in crisis by providing treatment, housing, support services, and career opportunities, including veterans in need. Their vision is to overcome all disparities in accessing affordable housing and comprehensive healthcare. These organizations embody my life purpose, passion and goal.....as my mission is to help impact people's lives positively, in any way that I can.

In addition, I was the Co-Host of the radio show, "Good To Know with Liz Goodchild", on AM 1160 for 7 years on AM1160.

Having been raised with a strong work ethic throughout my childhood, high school years, and magnified through the Marine Corps; has instilled in me a stronger dedication to my career and all that I do. I expect to exemplify my values in my services to my clients, for I respect and live by them daily. My dedication, and responsibility to my clients is of the utmost importance to me. Serving our different communities, including my fellow active and veteran community, is full circle for me and is a true honor. In my continued efforts in serving as many people as I can, I am proud to have served my country and I am proud to serve my communities now.
